Keeping communities safer, together

Crime prevention

We work with vulnerable and disadvantaged young people who are most at risk of falling into crime and violence. We guide them on a new path to a more positive future.

Our aim is clear: to listen, encourage, support and empower them to realising and achieving their true potential. Everyone deserves the chance to thrive. And we’re here to make sure they do.

In the year ending March 2024, there were just over 3,200 knife or offensive weapon offences committed by children resulting in a caution or sentence. This is 6% fewer than the previous year but 20% greater than 10 years ago and is the sixth consecutive year-on-year decrease.

Building brighter futures with Five Pillars

We use our Five Pillar approach to help young people understand their potential.

Part of this initiative includes mentoring – which is critical to understanding the root cause behind why young people are pulled into crime and violence.

The Five Pillars directly tackles these barriers, creating an environment where young people feel seen, valued, and ready to shape their future.

It doesn’t matter what they’ve faced. What matters is that , with our backing , they come through the other side – stronger, more confident, and ready to fulfil their potential.

“ Everyone deserves the chance to thrive. And we’re here to make sure they do. ”

Our experience

Our team is made up of dedicated individuals, many of whom bring lived experience of criminal activity, giving us a unique understanding.

Our mentors and youth workers are experts at building relationships based on mutual trust and respect, helping to guide young people through their challenges while inspiring hope.

It doesn’t matter what they’ve faced. with our backing, they come through stronger.

We’re strongly supported by a network of local partners, community groups, and volunteers. They share our vision of creating safer communities and a more vibrant and prosperous Nottingham where all young people believe in a bright future.

This collective strength ensures our interventions are effective. They’re grounded in real-world understanding. And they deliver results.

OUR STORY Switch Up DNA

Kaleb’s Story

The true impact of our crime prevention work is visible in the young lives we’ve helped transform. Take Kaleb’s Story for example.

Kaleb came to us facing significant challenges. He was on the brink of serious trouble. Through consistent engagement in our programmes and one-to-one mentoring, he found direction.

He found purpose.

Today, Kaleb has not only turned his life around, but he’s actively contributing to a positive future.
